I was only able to restore the C drive, not the other drive where I had a partition for Ubuntu and another partition for games.

I’m sure the backup didn’t contain the virus. I restored as soon as the program that had the virus was launched.

I did not format the disk. I told the anti virus software to quarantine the virus but it kept coming back so I rebooted and restored from the linux rescue disk. I’m scanning for the virus now but it takes a long time.

All I found as a backup option was to use floppy disks and I have about 20 gigs on my hard drive with all my programs and documents and stuff, I could not even imagine how many floppy disks that would take!!!
