I want to basically replicate my computer onto my external hard drive.

Space is not an issue on my external as its about 4 times the size of my computers hard drive. I have a 160GB Western Digital HD that just shows up as a removable disk with no software.

However, the materials tell me that sync-ing is not a backup; what happens if I lose everything on my computer? Will the external hdd also lose everything?

Should I backup (copy and paste) AND sync with the program? What is the point of that!?
